Carra Moroni


Carra Moroni manages the Community Transformation Initiative for the City of Houston Department of Health and Human Services. In that role, Carra leads efforts to make Houston a more livable, walkable and sustainable city – making healthy choices easier for all Houstonians. On any given day, Carra can be found at the table with individuals working on transportation and mobility for the Houston region, increasing access to healthy food, promoting opportunities for physical activity, developing smoke-free places, and promoting the concept of Health in all Policies.

Carra has been involved with initiatives such as: Sunday Streets HTX which opened miles of Houston streets to pedestrians and cyclists, providing them with an opportunity for physical activity and promoting active transportation; the Houston Healthy Cornerstore Network pilot which launched in July of 2014 to increase access to healthy food; the Go Healthy Houston/Houston Restaurants  Week partnership which promotes healthy choices when dining out; and other efforts that bring together a variety of partners working on improving the livability and quality of life in Houston.
